From the 16th century to the present day, the Château des Ormes has witnessed six centuries of history, transformation and renewal.
Shaped by the d’Argenson family and the great minds of the Enlightenment — Voltaire, Marmontel, Moncrif — it became a leading intellectual and artistic centre in the 18th century, before being revived in the 21st century under the initiative of Mr Abbou.

The estate of the Château des Ormes, whose origins date back to the 16th century, embodies six centuries of history, architecture, and curiosity. Comprising the château, its gardens, park, outbuildings and remarkable features such as the icehouse, the power station, the Suzette II motorboat, and the marquis d’Argenson’s herbarium, it reveals a constant dialogue between nature and human ingenuity.
